Training

The objective of the Training Department of the «Fundação A LORD» is to provide new learning opportunities and professional improvement to the population of Lordelo.

To fulfil this aim, the Foundation has carried out a series of diverse training programmes directed towards different sectors:

- the unemployed in search of new employment;

- the unemployed in search of their first job;

- those engaged in professional activities (employees and managers)

The courses promoted in common by this service, are destined to people who need to be (re) inserted in the labour market:

- Adult Education and Training, equivalent to the 9th year of state schooling and in the professional area of family and community support programmes

- CAD–CAM Operator

In partnership with the «Cooperativa de Electrificação A LORD, CRL» the Foundation has also been providing training for employees and managers of the economic agents of the area, in the following fields:

- Basic and advanced initiation to IT (Word, Excel, Internet and Auto-CAD)

- Health and Safety at Work

- Quality Certification.

The majority of courses are financed by the European Social Fund and the Portuguese State. In the close future it is anticipated to include other areas of training, with the purpose of developing quality in management, for example, Communication and Interpersonal Relations, Marketing and Publicity, Customer Handling and Sales Techniques, among others.

From time to time, these services also conduct non-fee paying actions, according to the needs of the local population and sometimes carried out in partnerships with major organisations. Such occurred, for example, with:

- Computer science for children;

- Initial Pedagogic Training for Monitors and

- Basic Computer science for members of the «Cooperativa de Electrificação A LORD»

All these actions are possible because the Foundation is accredited by the «IQF» (Institute for the Quality in Training) that confirms the quality of the organization, promotion and delivery of training activities.)
